BEFORE PROHIBITION
STIRRED & SPIRIT-FORWARD
COLD WEATHER
Sugar
1 cube
Water
2 dashes
Peychaud's bitters
3 dashes
Rye whiskey
6 cl
Absinthe
2 dashes
Lemon
garnish
Glass size
30 cl
The glass itself, not the pour — most drinks don’t fill it to the brim.
A proper Sazerac rinses the glass with absinthe and discards it — that step cannot be built here (see NOT-ADDED.md), so this adds the absinthe direct instead.
TASTE
Dry and peppery from the rye, anise humming underneath rather than dominating, with the sugar barely showing.
